Aerin is a very average-looking person. He stands 5'11", and is a little bit thin at 145 pounds. At 28 years of age, he still has a baby-face, despite the goatee he's wearing, he is commonly mistaken for 18-20 years old. His hair, a medium-brown, goes down to about his mid-back, and is pulled back into a ponytail. As stated before, he has a very youthful face, with bright blue eyes that flash with intelligence and full cheeks. His right canine is missing, but that's neither here nor there. Something about his features suggests maybe a Welsh origin. He's dressed in a red lace-up shirt and black slacks, with steel-toed Doc Martins and a black leather trench coat over the whole thing.

Aerin Thomas came into the world on November 24th, 1976, as Jeremy Thomas. His true parentage has never been (and probably never will be) revealed, as he was adopted by William and Patricia Thomas, a loving middle-class family. Jeremy grew up with an older brother and younger sister, always very intelligent, but also very socially reserved. He didn't quite fit into the mold society asked him to. He was bright, but didn't excel in school as much as he'd hoped to. He was likable, but never made a lot of friends. From an early age, he was fascinated with monster movies...old Universal films, like Lugosi's "Dracula" and Karloff's "Frankenstein." And, of course, don't forget "Wolfman" with Lon Chaney, Jr. His parents just chalked it up to "his uniqueness," as they called it...but somehow, deep down in side, Jeremy knew that there was something deeper.
After high school, Jeremy went to Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, Oregon. He didn't find the acting career he'd always hoped for- -he'd been quite the theatre star in high school--but what he did find (and quickly grew to love) was the freedom and tolerance of the neo-hippies that he befriended. His cultural, social, and political tastes quickly took form, and he found himself in more then a few new experiences that he absolutely loved. He also discovered his bisexuality. Unfortunately, his schoolwork suffered, and he didn't last more then a year there before he was o n h is way home on academic suspension.
Back home, he quickly found that his lifestyle that he'd adopted in college didn't sit well with his parents. He quickly moved out, and moved in with the woman who would become the first great love of his life, Victoria Sutherland. "Tori," as she was called, was a definite free spirit, and the two spent one and a half years happily, until her hard drug use (carried on behind his back) caused her to leave him in December, 1997. That pretty much broke Jeremy down. She moved out, as they were both unemployed and could not afford their apartment, and he made the mistake of moving with her, into her new co-worker's apartment.
Alicia "Pauly" White was an exotic dancer, and she got Tori a job doing the same. While Jeremy had no problem with the profession choice, it didn't help Tori's use of crystal meth. He was isolated and miserable for the first two months, but at least he could pretend he was still WITH her. Then, she got a boyfriend, and he lost it. He fled the apartment , leaving everything he had there, and ended up on the streets, ironically living in a burnt-out hotel behind the very strip club Tori and Pauly usually worked.
Life on the streets was tough, but it forced Jeremy to get his shit together, so to speak. Jeremy got a job working as a phone researcher, doing political surveys over the phone for less then minimum wage. It wasn't much, but it paid for food. Being a pacifist, Jeremy did suffer at the hands of one or two "street bullies," especially when one of them found out he was bisexual. He became the subject or a couple gay bashings because of this, but was lucky enough to find a group of street kids who accepted him regardless. One evening, he and his friends went down to Saturday Market (the local bohemian market that Portland has from March until November) and bought an eighth of psychedelic mushrooms each. Jeremy tripped hard, and the group went up to Mount Tabor in Southwest Portland to fry.
Unfortunately, five homeless young adults on shrooms are not a very cohesive thing, and soon, Jeremy was by himself. This turned out to be the greatest blessing of his life. By tripping, Jeremy triggered his First Change. To him, he had simply become an animal within his trip, without memory or regret, without worries of a paycheck, a roof over his head, and past loves lost for life. Actually, considering Mount Tabor is a populated suburban area, it could have gone very badly, if not for the fact that a woman came to him while he was in his Lupus form. This woman led him to her home and watched over him until he came down.
Jeremy awoke naked in Homid, in a bed. Seriously worried as to what had happened the night before, he came out to find the woman, who's name was Charity Cornman (or Charity Finds-the-Lost to her Sept), sitting on the couch, watching TV. She had him sit down and explained what he was. She told him that she had been watching him from birth, and that she knew his true parents, though he wouldn't tell him who exactly they were. Oddly, it all made sense to him. From that moment, he began his association with the Children of Gaia.
Jeremy spent the next 2 years of his life with the local Sept, learning the ways of the Garou and, more specifically, the Children of Gaia. He knew immediately that he would never be a "Warrior of Gaia" the way the Ahrouns were. Garou or not, he was still a pacifist at heart, and his path would lie elsewhere then on the battlefield. He found that his natural empathy for people served him well in discerning people's problems and helping them. Eventually, he felt a need to set out on his own, and left Portland. He would not see his adoptive parents in quite some time, nor any of his friends ever again.
Eventually, Jeremy made his way to Fox Park, a city in the Midwest Unite d States, near one of the Great Lakes. In Fox Park, Jeremy found a group that accepted him, and made him feel like home...for a while. This is where he lost his right tooth, attempting an infiltration of a Black Spiral hive that nearly ended in his death. Eventually, however, this situation turned very bad, as one of his close friends was falsely named as a Spiral, and she fled Fox Park. Disillusioned, he left as we ll. He found himself wandering from city to city, hooking up with Septs and helping where he could. He didn't stay with one Sept, and never rose in rank...but he managed to gain the respect of others regardless, and gained several friends that he knew he could call on if things got bad.
The year now is 2003. Jeremy has wandered his way to New York City, where he knows his help is needed. With luck, they'll want it.
