Jeremy "Dream" Thomas -> Jeremy
"Dream" Thomas: 9,9,4,2,9,4,
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: His jaw sets
slightly, and he looks at Andrew for a good five or six seconds, before looking
away, nodding. "Of course. I'll be happy to toe the line."
Andrew Fisher: And you will do that how?
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: "By following the
Litany, of course."
Andrew Fisher: To the letter?
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: "To the
punctuation. And believe me..." He looks back up, his eyes bright and
unwavering. The wall is down. "...I would never do anything I felt was not
Gaia's will. Not while under my own control, anyway."
Andrew Fisher: *he nods at this* I believe
you Dream. Good. No more secret midnight liasons with Wyrmspawn then.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas -> Jeremy "Dream"
Thomas: 8,7,5,3,4,7,
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: He's right to his
feet, staring the man down. Despite the half a foot of height difference,
there's no fear in Dream's stance. "Wyrmspawn can't enter the Park, Andrew. They
don't care about people. They seek to corrupt and destroy, and ruin everything
and everyone in existance." He stares at the man, defiant. "I think I've got a
pretty good handle on what's a Wyrmspawn and what isn't. And I would never
associate with someone who fits any of those qualifications."
Andrew Fisher: So you think that the person
has to be overt in it's actions to be a Wyrmspawn? Did you not stop to think
that the Wyrm is at it's most dangerous when it is subtle? When it comes from
those we least expect? *arms crossed, eyes locked on the other man* You seem
very ready to stand up against your own kind over this. The Wyrm would be very
proud.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: "No, of course I
don't think the Wyrm has to be overt. It's most devious when it's at it's
subtlest." His jaw twitches a little. "I know this. I saw this, over the past
month. I did it. To a LOT of people. But I also don't think that what can amount
to an unfortunate twist of fate damns you eternally. I believe in redemption.
I've seen a Caern Elder, not here, but elsewhere, in the throes of the Wyrm,
subtle to the point that no one notice. I've felt it's effects. And I've also
seen many people improperly labeled corrupt. And I've seen actual, Tainted
people, do more for Gaia then anyone I've ever known. It's not about the stain
on their souls. It's about what they're doing to get it off."
Andrew Fisher: *He thinks about this and
nods* Yes, it is. But would you rather stand with them, or with us? I need to
know where EXACTLY your loyalties lie Dream. We have a good thing going here.
The most organization and pride and commitment I have seen since I arrived in
this city. I will not jeopardize it. For anyone. Laidan trusts you implicitly,
and that colors her view of you. I, barely know you, so I look at actions and
behaviors rather than what I am told. So tell me Dream. Where do you stand? What
is most important to you? WHO is most important to you?
Andrew Fisher: ((EXACTLY where your
loyalties))
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas -> Jeremy "Dream"
Thomas: 8,7,4,9,6,7,
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: "I stand against
the Wyrm, Andrew. I stand against it and everything it's trying to do to this
world. I stand alongside everyone who fights the Wyrm, both within and without."
He's barely even blinked yet. "I agree with you, there's a good thing going here
right now. What's most important to me is the people around me, around this
city...those who need protecting. Those who need saving. The people that are
threatened by the Wyrm. This Sept. And no, not necessarily in that order." His
gaze doesn't leave Andrew's, his conviction flaring in them. "But most
importantly, it's doing the right thing. By Gaia. And that, I've always done.
Besides the last month."
Andrew Fisher: Then open your eyes Dream.
This treaty is in place to make us focus on our own larger problems rather than
on only the Vampires. BUT, just because it is there does not mean they are our
friends and closest allies. We allow them to exist. We work with them MAYBE, but
not very often. But they do not become our friends. They are still the enemy
Dream. If they realize it or not, accept it or not, they are still Wyrmspawn.
And yes, good people are affected, and good people are tainted. But that does
not change the fact that they are of the Wyrm. A good heart and soul trapped in
the body of a Wyrmspawn deserves to be freed, not accepted and allowed to exist.
Eventually, they WILL turn to the Wyrm and embrace it. *looks the proud man
over* When this battle we face is all over, I believe Laidan and I will have
something to talk to you about.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: He pauses, and
looks at Andrew. "And what about Banes? Are they Wyrmspawn, Andrew?" Leading
question? Damn skippy. Someone's making a point.
Andrew Fisher: *replies honestly* I am not a
Theurge any more Dream. But as far as I understand it, they are spirits that are
the servants of the Wyrm and are the greatest of our enemies. But, they are also
spirits. They are not flesh and blood humans.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: "Because back in my
old Sept, there was an Elder there. A Theurge. Pretty damn powerful one, too."
He nods. "He had this Gift, granted by Gaia. Could turn a Bane into a Naturae.
Saw it once...it was incredible. Now, if a creature that was never existed for
any purpose other then to serve the Wyrm can be turned to Gaia's side, why do
you find it so hard to believe that a creature who did once exist on it's own,
outside of the service of the Wyrm and was corrupted, can strive to come back to
Her good graces? And yes, they're spirits. Made with one single, driving
purpose, with no other one then that. Wyrm, Weaver, Gaia. They have no other
inclination. Which means humans, who are not created specifically with one
purpose, should still have a choice. Particularly if HOW they became of the Wyrm
had nothing to do with them."
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: ((should still have
a choice = should be even more likely to have a choice. Gaah.))
Andrew Fisher: What makes you think that I
don't think they can WANT to be back? You find me a way to cleanse a Vampire of
what makes them a leech and I will be the first one there cheering you on to get
it done. You find a gift that does it and we are all there. But good intentions
mean nothing to me Dream. They are still Wyrmspawn. That is fact. Now, let me
ask of you a question. And you do not have to answer it now, but it will show
exactly where you stand. If the treaty ended right now. And we went forth to
destroy the Wyrmspawn and release the pure souls back to Gaia. Where would you
stand Dream? What would you do?
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: "I will answer that
right now." He sets his jaw, staring at him hard. Anger flaring in his eyes. "If
the treaty ended. Right now. And we all got up and headed out and went out to
kill every last Wyrmspawn in the city. I would be there, doing it. And praying
to Gaia that she got away. And if she didn't, then it wasn't Gaia's will. If she
did...then it WAS Gaia's will. You yourself said it, Andrew. Everything happens
for a reason."
Andrew Fisher: *a long considering pause, the
calm expression has never changed throughout this* Thank you Dream. That is what
I wanted to know. Just keep that in mind Dream. You may face that decision one
day. I ask one thing from you. Until you face the Elders, do nothing that makes
it seem like you still have ANY ties with the Wyrm. Please.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: He finally, FINALLY closes his eyes. Weariness takes him, and he looks about ready to topple, his energy sapped by the strength of his convictions, the adrenaline gone. "Fine. I will, as I said, toe the line. To the fuckin' punctuation." He shakes his head, sighing deeply. He goes for another cigarette. The old one's long dead.
Andrew Fisher: *a hint of a smile* Myself, Laidan, Discard, and you. At least, that is my plan. I just added you. Have to talk with Laidan, but like I said, I am sure she will agree.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: His fingers run
over the beads. "Yeah, so I gathered. I think she'll agree to it." A faint
smile, before he takes a drag of his cigarette.
Andrew Fisher: *he nods* Feel better now that
that is over with?
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: He considers a
moment. "About you? Yes. In general?" He shrugs. "When the numbness goes away in
about a decade, I'll let you know how much this helped."
Andrew Fisher: *thinks about that* Five
years. Maybe six.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: He shrugs, nodding.
"Ooh, half the time. Score."
Andrew Fisher: Hey, it's how long it took me.
*a faint chuckle* But Laidan won't let it go that long. She's a determined one.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: He nods. "I know
she is. Who know that letting someone crash at your pad for a few weeks would
have such an great perk?"
Andrew Fisher: *a tender smile crosses the
mans face, it is obvious he holds a special place for the little blind one* It
took less than that for me. I cannot imagine the treatment you are gonna get my
friend. *glances around* I should get home. Thank you for your candor Dream.
Jeremy "Dream" Thomas: He nods to Andrew.
"Good day, Andrew. And thank you for coming to me, not to them."
Andrew Fisher: *he looks at the man* It is
not something that needed their attention Dream. I do not question your
loyalties. I do believe in you and that you are free. It was not for any others
to know of. That is why I did not bring it up before now. *a nod* Good day
Dream. Take care. *he turns and starts away*
