Singha: so when does he go to see Guido and how does he arrange for the
meeting
Jeremy Thomas: Jer makes contact with Guido through whatever channels he has, most
likely the sept, and says that he needs to speak with him regarding Spyder and
the prototype.
Jeremy Thomas: And this would be, say, the Tuesday after the lab break-in
Singha: so about March 10
Singha: no, March 9
Jeremy Thomas: Yep.
Jeremy Thomas: He'll let Guido set the details of the meeting, but will suggest haste if
possible. He knows Guido's higher-ranking, but he wants to get this to the
drop-off ASAP.
Singha: What does he tell Guido in order to arrange the meeting with him?
Jeremy Thomas: That he's got some information regarding Spyder's situation and the
prototype, as well as some physical evidence of some other things Schondorf is
working on.
Singha: ok, Guido agrees to meet with him.
Jeremy Thomas: Cool. When & where?
Singha: at the Restaurant
Jeremy Thomas: All right, so he makes sure to look good. He shaves, pulls his hair back,
and shows up at the time indicated in an olive long-sleeved dress shirt and
slacks, sans jacket, but with his backpack. He brings along the disk he got from
the lab, plus one of the tubs and one of the vials.
Singha: Jer's shown into the back room, where the two burly bouncer types
guard the door while Guido meets with Jer at the desk.
Jeremy Thomas: He inclines his head to Guido when he comes in. "Sir. Thank you for
meeting with me."
Singha: He's eating some kind of linguini with shrimp in it and sips some
wine. "So, what you got for me?"
Jeremy Thomas: He takes a seat and sighs. "Well, first things first. Based on
information Fausto gave to Discard, I led Discard and a couple of others on a
break-in of a lab that Schondorf operates out of when he's here in the States."
He leans over, opening the backpack and withdrawing the paperwork. "That's the
documentation of what we uncovered. I also have with me samples of the stuff."
Singha: He nods, frowning as he looks over the stuff. "What the fuck was
Fausto thinking."
Jeremy Thomas: He furrows his brow a little. "What do you mean, sir?"
Singha: He shakes his head. "I have no fucking clue what this stuff is, or
why he asked Discard to get it."
Singha: "Did Discard say anyting to you about it?"
Jeremy Thomas: He shrugs. "As best as I was aware, it was rejuvenation creams, sold by a
cosmetics company, that were being developed from our natural regenerative
traits."
Singha: He frowns at that, looking over the stuff. "Alright. Any
complications while you were inside?"
Jeremy Thomas: "Nothing we couldn't handle. There was a bane guarding the hallway to the
lab that I had to take care of, and a lecherous security guard...that's about
it. However, while we were in there, I found some interesting information in the
computers regarding the prototype that may be relevant to Spyder's situation."
Singha: "Really?" Guido raises a brow at him. "How so?"
Jeremy Thomas: "It's possible that the prototype can be used to actually fight off the
thing that's attached itself to Spyder. However, I was unfortunately not able to
get the information printed out, as it was too heavily protected by security
measures. From what I saw, I need to use the prototype as an interface to access
the information."
Singha: Guido stares at him for a long moment. "You don't know anything
about cybernetics."
Jeremy Thomas: He smiles a litle. "No, I don't. But I know computers, and I understand
security measures, open ports on monitors, and when they're not USB, parallel or
serial ports. Which is why I poked around a little more inside the computers,
and found files about the prototype as a security measure."
Jeremy Thomas: ((monitors=towers. Gaah.))
Singha: "Look, kid, you're out of your league with this stuff. It's good
you went in and took out the lab, but I don't think Spyder's problem is gonna be
fixed by any simple software you copped from some lab."
Jeremy Thomas: He sighs a little. "It's not software, sir. It's instructions regarding
how to configure the device, which is a fetish, to help fight this thing off.
And honestly, unless you have a better idea, I think it's our best shot. We left
the lab pretty secure, and as best I can tell, Schondorf isn't back yet, so no
one would even know anything was off. It's an easy in-and-out mission. But I
need the prototype to do this." He looks at him. "Look, it's partially my fault
Spyder's in this situation in the first place. And I can help him. I just need
something for a short while to do so."
Singha: ((roll Man+sub))
Jeremy Thomas: ((Spending WP. Getting ass kicked by GW and failing Schondorf are both
bad ideas.))
Jeremy Thomas: ((Crap. Reyna Varinia Reiruno -> Singha [mar 9]: 3,1,8,3,2,1,))]
Singha: Guido simply laughs at him. "That's a good one, kid. Now what's
really going on?"
Jeremy Thomas: His mind races as he sees the perfect plan he had evaporate because of
shitty delivery. He does his best to remain outwardly calm, only sighing in
defeat. "All right, I'm sorry. The fact of the matter is, Guido, I want the damn
thing, much as I hate it, to finish out Fausto's plans. To get inside
Schondorf's confidence, and try and get as much information as I can." Well,
it's true in words...maybe not in spirit.
Singha: Guido stares at him, then nods. "Alright." He takes the stuff Jer
puts on the desk and moves over to a safe, spinning the dial and opening it.
Jeremy Thomas: He keeps his sigh of relief inside, just looking a little embarassed at
being caught in his lie. Don't look like you've won until you actually have.
Singha: He withdraws a metal case, putting the other items inside.
Singha: He moves over and hands the case to Jeremy
Jeremy Thomas: He takes the case from Guido, nodding. "Thank you, sir. And I'm sorry I
was less then honest. I just didn't know whether you'd go along with it."
Singha: He grins at him. "Just bring me Fausto."
Jeremy Thomas: He nods. "I'll do my best, sir." He stands up, inclining his head to him
again.
Singha: and Jer is escorted out of the Restaurant
Jeremy Thomas: Once he gets into his car, he drives halfway to the destination point,
then checks the case.
Singha: the device is in it
Jeremy Thomas: And then, he heads the rest of the way over to deliver it.
Singha: he drops it off without too much difficulty
Jeremy Thomas: And THEN comes the sigh of relief. He heads back home for some
well-deserved MTV.
