Aerin Thomas: Mondays. Who likes
Mondays? No one does. Especially not the infant baby girl in Aerin's arms. Tori
Dream is squealing up a storm as Aerin makes his way down the street, dressed as
per usual in his leather trench, hunter green dress shirt, slacks, and
steel-toed Doc Martins. He's trying to be alert and soothing to his daughter at
the same time, speaking quietly to her in Romani as he looks around.
Discard: She's back in town, with a nice
shiny jacket that somebody left at an arcade and a brand-new used pair of
sneakers that just didn't fit somebody anymore. Her tam hat is the same, snugly
fitted over her cranial deformity.
Discard: She's looking as pretty as ever and
cleaner than usual, a smile on her face despite the somewhat dreary weather.
Aerin Thomas:
d10: Perception+Alertness: 5,9,10,8,10,5,
Aerin Thomas: Paranoia, as always, pays
off, and Aerin looks up as he spots a familiar face. He breaks out in a wide
grin and starts heading over toward Discard, Tori's powerful baby lungs starting
to quiet as he rocks her gently.
Discard:
d10: per+alert: 7,2,2,3,4,
Discard: She almost misses Aerin as he
approaches her, but she catches sight of him. "Hey!" The girl says, throwing her
arms wide and skipping into a sprightly jog to get to her friend.
Aerin Thomas: "Hey, you!" He gives Discard
a soft grin and comes up, stopping just short so he can hug the girl, arms
shifting so as to get Tori out of the way of the hug. "Long time no see...how've
you been?"
Discard: Discard gives him a hug with her
strong, wiry frame-- as tough as ever. She grins. "I've been fine. Not really up
to much, but I needed to get away for a little while."
Aerin Thomas: He nods with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I know that feeling. I should be going out of town for a couple of weeks
myself, soon." Tori makes her voice known with a plaintive cry, and Aerin
shushes her for a second. He looks back up to Discard, his expression warm.
"Discard...I'd like you to meet Tori Dream...my daughter."
Discard: (( Sorry, work is busy. ))
Aerin Thomas: ((No prob.))
Discard: Discard's eyes go wide. "Holy
shit!" she says, then claps her hands over her mouth. "I mean, uh, holy poop."
she says through the hand-filter.
Aerin Thomas: He grins a little bit.
"S'okay. Ita says MUCH worse around her. She'll be scaring sailors away by the
time she's six."
Discard: Discard grins. "Specially if you
let me teach her how to fight!" She bounces up a bit and peers into the little
thing's face. "When I was little I was a lot hairier," she says sagely.
Aerin Thomas: He chuckles. "Maybe sometime
down the road." Tori looks up at Discard, giving a little gurgling sound. Aerin,
for his part watches Discard with a little smile. "You ready for Shocker #2?"
Discard: "... sure..." Discard says,
managing not to betray TOO much trepidation.
Aerin Thomas: "I have a son being born in
8 days." He smiles. "And before the accusations of me spreading seed all over
town or anything start, neither of them are biologically mine...though I'm no
less their father by that."
Discard: "Dag, Dream..." she says, shaking
her head a little. "You a family man now."
Aerin Thomas: He nods a little bit. "Yep.
Mate, kids...the whole works. I'm all, like, domesticated and shit."
Discard: "Hoozyer mate?"
Aerin Thomas: He chuckles. Shocker # 3. "Ita."
Discard: Discard blanches a little. "Um,"
she says. "She ain't ... done ... nothin' ... to ya, right?"
Aerin Thomas: "Well, she feeds me a lot,"
he says, perfectly blandly. "But her cooking's gotten a lot better. Not that
she's cooking much lately, considering that she's about to give birth..."
Discard: Discard blinks, her stare blank for
a moment, then she shakes her head and laughs a little. "Fuck, Dream, you really
had me going for a while."
Discard: "Give birth. You really had me goin',
you crazy cracker."
Aerin Thomas: He smiles. "I'm serious,
Discard. Someone found redemption in the eyes of the Goddess. And is a real
girl, now."
Aerin Thomas: It seems that whole 'Dead'
thing she had goin' on was just a phase.
Discard: Discard gapes. For like a damn
minute, if uninterrupted.
Aerin Thomas: That last is murmured, in a
low tone. ((Damn accidentally hitting "Post. Ah, well))
Aerin Thomas: He shrugs a little bit.
After four months, he's used to this reaction.
Discard: After her brain has processed the
info, Discard's face breaks into a very wide grin. "Faaaaaaahk!" She says
enthusiastically. "That's awesome!"
Aerin Thomas: He nods, his smile soft and
exceptionally warm. "Yeah...yeah, it is." He nods a little bit. "We're going to
be leaving for a couple weeks to visit her family over in Scotland after
Archer's born...then it's off to find someone who can make her part of the
family, so to speak. Hopefully, I should be back in like, three weeks or so."
Discard: "Aw," Discard says, face falling a
little. "I just got back!"
Aerin Thomas: "I'll be back soon," he says
with a grin. "Should easily be back by my birthday at the end of the month...I
hope so, anyway."
Discard: "Oh, well okay." Discard replies
with a grin. She looks a little more serious for a moment. "Without being too
specific, how're ... politics?"
Aerin Thomas: "Politics are...good." He
shrugs. "Hectic for a while, but they calmed down recently. Which, of course,
probably only means that the, ah...Evil Politicians...are biding their time, and
will be back in force soon."
Discard: "Yeah, probably." Discard squares
her shoulders. "Well, I'll see what I can do to help out with stuff. Anybody
important leave? Or die?"
Aerin Thomas: "Ummm." He nods a little
bit. "Trevor Dunne." He sighs. "Karlos and Malcolm have left...so did Angelia.
The whole Body of Harmony have pretty well broken up...Silkie, Ingvar, Reyna
Reiruno, and Okami Yuki are still here, but the others left. Jody Yu now owns
and operates the Concerto Club."
Discard: She nods a little bit. "Okay," She
says. "They seemed to be the ones had a lotta trouble."
Aerin Thomas: He nods a little. "Yeah.
Still...a lot of old friends of mine." He thinks. "There's others that have
gone...Andrew's gone, for one."
Discard: "Oh yeah?" Discard says.
Aerin Thomas: He nods. "Just kind
of...vanished, and left Kaeleigh in the lurch. We haven't heard from him since,
no matter what we've tried."
Discard: She frowns. "Well, sometimes people
just go. I guess i didn't really talk to nobody before I left. Then again, I
didn't have a mate."
Aerin Thomas: He nods. "Exactly. There's
been a lot of people who have just kinda left." He smiles reufully.
"Unfortunate, but...what are you going to do, right?"
Discard: "Right," Discard says, and smiles.
"Nothing to do but wait for 'em ta to come back."
Aerin Thomas: "And hope they do, some
day."
Discard: She nods, then smiles. "I'm gonna
go now, but I'm sure I'll catch you later. Good ta see ya, Dream."
Aerin Thomas: "Good to see you too,
Discard." He pauses. "And it's Aerin now, by the way. I...long story. Dream's
still my Deed Name, but I've changed my name to Aerin. Irish for 'Peace.'"
Discard: "Oh right," Discard says, looking
thoughtful. "I think somebody said that once."
Discard: "Well I'll catch ya later. Peace."
Aerin Thomas: "See you, Dioscard. Catch
you later."
Discard: With that, she bounds away,
chanting something about shit being bananas.
