Luis Ruiz: * A short, powerfuly built man in his mid to
late twenties. Dark skinned and latino with just a slight barrio accent. The
eyes are a deep brown and his hair is black and buzzed into an high and tight.
Two inches over the clavicle there is a vicious pucker of a scar that dominates
the right side of his neck. He is dressed in a black pair of 5.11 pants and a
matching polo shirt. * {{ http://www.wodnyc.net/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&pos=-392

Luis Ruiz: * He wanders u to the edge of the
pond and takes a look around. Shity spot. Way too open. This would not do. *
Luis Ruiz: * It is relaxing though even with
the dizzle. So when he spots an empty bench he takes a seat. *
Luis Ruiz: * He looks to the left and then
too the right... then up into a tree where he watches the pidgeons for awhile. *
Luis Ruiz: * He licks at his lips softly,
remembering the taste of pidgeon. Weird what a rainy night can bring up. *
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She slips into the
pond and fountain, avoiding the worst of the crowds. Too much for even her. She
saunters her way up, enjoying the calming sensation as she smokes a cigarette.
The fact that she and the smoke are getting wet doesn't seem to bother her too
much.

Luis Ruiz: * His mind goes into tracking
mode as the female comes around. He watches her quietly and smiles to himself.
Just cant help it. *
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She grins a little
herself as her eyes fall onto Luis...but then again, when isn't she. She walks
up his way, giving an upward tilt to her chin in greeting. "Hola, ese. Como
estas?"
Luis Ruiz: " (Spanish) Hola. I'm fine for a
wet dog. You look like you might melt. " * His eyes follow her as she comes
closer, but otherwise the man does not move at all. *
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "Nah, I'm
rainproofed." She smirks a little, exhaling a drag of smoke. ~Span~ "You come
here for the view? Or you like gettin' rained on?"
Luis Ruiz: * He shrugs... * " (Span) Maybe I
come here to watch girls. What do you think? " * There is a slight smile. * " To
tell you the truth I was just out siteseeing and decided to take a break here. I
dont mind the rain all that much. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: A chuckle. ~Span~
"I didn't which view you might be coming to see." She winks at him, and
moves to take a seat on the bench, with a little space between them. A hand is
extended to the man. "Reyna."
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ((didn't say which
view...))
Luis Ruiz: * He chuckles and takes the
hand. * " (span) I am Luis. So why do you come here? You should be out closer to
the street where you can cause accidents. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She's got a good,
strong shake...friendly. A little laugh at his compliment. ~Span~ "What, the
Desperado route? Selma Hayek I'm not...thanks, though." She sighs. ~Span~ "Naah,
I like the vibe from time to time. Peaceful. I don't get enough of that."
Luis Ruiz: * He blinks at that, then
smiles... * " (span) Forgive me. I have never seen that film. I thought the same
and that is why I stoped here to rest. There were too many people south of here,
and I get distracted easily. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "You and me
both." She grins. "I like chaos as much as the next girl, but there was just too
much going on there."
Luis Ruiz: * He sighs contentedly and
looks back up to the pidgeons. * " (span) so do you always talk to strange men
when you are trying to find peace? "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "Typically,
yeah." She nods a little and sucks in another lungful of smoke. She leans back
on the bench, watching him with a curious little smile. ~Span~ "I have very bad
habits about hanging around strange men."
Luis Ruiz: * That gets a very big grin but
he continues to watch the tree. * " (span) Ah well to each their own. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "What can I
say...it's the bad boy thing. Though I gotta admit...my perspective got kinda
thrown off. It's pretty damn hard to hit the bad boy stage with me."
Luis Ruiz: " (span) And here I sit the poor
boy scout. " * There is another chuckle at that. * " I hope for your sake that
you grow out of that someday. Bad boys do not think as much as they should. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "Oh, I know,
Luis. Trust me, I know. Or they think too much...just about the wrong thing.
Maybe someday I'll tell you a story." She grins, chain-lighting a new cigarette
off the old one, then sutbbing out and pocketing the butt.
Luis Ruiz: " (Span) So then what do you
do? You do not seem the type to stay at home and cook for the ese's. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "Substitute
Teacher." With that grin, she could be joking. But then again, she was grinning
before, too, when she was being serious.
Luis Ruiz: " (span) School was my worst
subject. What ages do you teach? Or I guess which is your favorite? "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "Honestly?"
She considers the question, taking a drag as she gives a lopsided smile. ~Span~
"I like the remedial classes, myself."
Luis Ruiz: * He shrugs... * " (span) I
managed to remain out of those myself. I only ask because I am going to be
teaching soon too and I have never done it before. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "Really?"
She tilts her head to the side. ~Span~ "What are you going to be teaching?"
Luis Ruiz: " (Span) Advanced self defense
and combat tactics. Probably not too children, though. At least I hope not. " *
That brings another chuckle and he takes his eyes off the sleeping birds to look
back over at her. *
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: Hmm...she's heard
of that recently. ~Span~ "Yeah...don't imagine too many kids'd be ready for that
particular subject matter." She grins. ~Span~ "Would this be that First Defense
I've heard about?"
Luis Ruiz: * He nods. * " (span) Yeah thats
the place. I guess that the advertising is paying off. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ~Span~ "And how."
She nods a little bit. ~Span~ "Sounds like a pretty good thing...though it did
seem a bit Michigan Milita for my tastes. It's not actually like that, is it?"
Luis Ruiz: {{ All posts are in spanish
unless otherwise stated }}
Luis Ruiz: * He shrugs at that. * " Its free
enterprise. I mean its a school. I am sure that some assholes will tr to attend
but there are ways of weeding them out. Most of the clients will probably be
people with too much money on there hands and cops that just want to improve
their skillset. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ((All posts in Span
as well.)) She nods to that. "Makes sense. Sorry if I offended...just seemed a
little paramilitary." She shrugs a bit, then grins. "Might have to stop by
myself...check it out. I can always use a little extra learning."
Luis Ruiz: " I dont own it so its no offense
too me. Its a job and I like the people I am working with so I am going to give
it a shot. " * There is another shrug... * " Alot of the instructors are former
military but not all. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "Got it." She runs
a hand through wetted hair, pulling it back from her face. "That how you got the
job?"
Luis Ruiz: " I was in, yeah. Found out I was
not going to be able to re-enlist and put my resume out there. First D was
offering the best money so here I am. I never thought about how much it was
actualy going to cost a single guy to live in this city though. " * He chuckles.
* " My appartment sucks but its far from the worst place I have ever laid my
head. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "Roommates help."
She nods. "So does having a vehicle you call home. But yeah, I know what you
mean. Not exactly a place that lends itself to the phrase, 'Low Cost of
Living.'"
Luis Ruiz: " Yeah not at all. " * He
turns his head to look out over the pond again. * " Mainly just trying to adjust
still. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "Where'd you come
from?"
Luis Ruiz: " Originaly from Puerto Rico.
Just before I came here I was stationed in Columbia, though. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "Ooh. Tough place
to be stationed, I bet."
Luis Ruiz: * He shakes his head. * " No its
not that bad. At least not for me. I kinda fit in. The Gringo's had to be very
careful though. Anyway I should get back to site seeing. It was good meeting
you. "
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "Yeah." She nods,
patting the man on the shoulder. "I should get movin', too. Good meeting you,
Luis...maybe I'll see you around."
Luis Ruiz: " You never can tell. " * And
with that he rises and heads back in the direction of fifth avenue. " {{ Thanks
for the rp but player needs to get ready for work. }}
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ((Cool cool. Thanks
for the scene!))
