Fangwulf: Okay. So. Adele has the pendant. If she looks closely at it, there
is a tiny flame within a castle engraved on the outside of it. That much is easy
enough to tell. Gold.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Keeeeewl. So, she's gonna do Omen first...try and see what she can
Soothsay about it.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Bunk = Setting up a divining circle, with a pool of water, candles
around...a pseudo-goth occult mysticism sort of thing.
Fangwulf: *nodnod* Four point bunk, or fivce, demending on how long it takes
her.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Ooooh, she will take all the time in the world. She'll spend a full day
setting it up. She has the time, after all. :)
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: And she'll even spend a Glamour point to lower the diff, too. Rollin'
now.
Fangwulf: *L* I need to hit enter after I type.
Fangwulf: Just was saying to roll. Diff 3.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Oh. Well, then, nm. Can't get lower then that. ;)
Fangwulf: You don't need to spend the Glamour.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: ((If I get six 2's, I'm blowing the die roller up))
Fangwulf: It's a level 5 bunk. On a rather Glamorous Item. I think you're okay.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Pardon me. I need to find Internet explosives. Adele Elizabeth Hamilton:
d10: Omen: 4,1,3,5,2,4,
Fangwulf: *blink* Holy crap. But 3 sux.
Fangwulf: Mmmh... the candles flicker out, and the wind blows, and the locket
pops open.
Fangwulf: The odd thing is, she is seeing this all happen, as if it is happening
to her. A wind blows, and it is not... her holding it. It is a sidhe, a Liam.
Strong, and proud. He closes it, and holds up a sword. Shouts out his battle
cry. It looks... oddly Roman, though it is within the Dreaming. So many odd
things.
Fangwulf: *Shift to... another Liam, passed down. They look similar. Time is
passing. A great beast though, now, stands against them. Could this be...
Arcadia?*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Hmmm. Interesting. She blinks, watching the entire thing, and does what
she does best. Observe, and process. It's secrets. Her favorite trade.
Fangwulf: *Twist to... an odd scene. An Eiluned, standing up to the beast,
holding up her hands. A scream from her mouth, that echoes through her mind. The
swerving creature. On her mouth, she can see a single word - Ahrobas. The beast
throws its near Draconic head back, and is pulled into what looks like... a
stone. A large black stone. Green tentacled wisps curling it in, and the Eiluned
passes out. This pendant has witnessed much, it seems.*
Fangwulf: *And the final scene. The pendant on the neck of a dying man. A young
boy taking it off of his father, and growing... to a man, in a day. She
recognizes the Winter encampment. A scarred man smirking, and raising a hand.
Powerful magics. A sword. THE sword.*
Fangwulf: *Red haired. The scarred man, red haired. So deep, like dried blood.
And then it fades, and releases her.* ((Roll me Int.))
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: d10: Intelligence: 8,3,2,10,
Fangwulf: *The tentacles are the same that were on Aethilians's sword hilt, and as
she remembers, there looked to be a spot where that stone would fit.*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Okay, so, then...with that in mind, it's time to start looking up the
name Ahrobas.
Fangwulf: Where?
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: First place to start looking is by asking Elias. She doesn't want to try
speaking to anyone at Dawson's...it might reveal she has the pendant, and she's
not comfortable with those there knowing that yet.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: He may at least be able to direct her in the right direction.
Fangwulf: If she says the word to Elias, he will ACTUALLY pale.
Fangwulf: Errr... moreso than normal.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Oh, dear. ((Should we take this IC? Can if needed.))
Fangwulf: ((Prolly a good idea.))
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Cool. Start from her entering, or just after he pales?
Fangwulf: After he pales, I think/
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: ((Cool.)) Her brow arches a little bit, lips twisting into a tight frown
of concern. "That...does bode well, Elias," she whispers.
Fangwulf: What did you say? *he whispers.*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Should I even say the word again, based on you reacion?" She gives him a
look. "Ahrobas."
Fangwulf: *He pauses, and holds up a finger.* Let me... find the scroll.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Of course." She folds her hands in her lap and watches him, waiting
patiently.
Fangwulf: *He actually walks down one of the darkened hallways. And it does take
him near a half hour. He comes back with a few scrolls, actually.* Pardon the
wait, *he whispers.*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "By all means," she murmurs with a slight nod. "I have a feeling it will
be worth it."
Fangwulf: *He moves to the table, and unrolls the first one. A neat script.* Do
you read Latin? *he whispers*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "I'm afraid not." A slight shake of her head. "I have not yet had the
opportunity to learn." She leans over to look at the scroll anyway.
Fangwulf: *He runs a dead finger over the dead scrolls.* On Thallain and other
matters, *he whispers.* This is... the writings of one of our ancestors.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Thallain." She frowns a little bit, but nods. "Ahrobas is a Thallain?"
Fangwulf: A very powerful creature of nightmares, *he whispers.* A twisting
demon. The last records of it, however, are before the Sundering.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "I see." She frowns and nods. "That would seem to make sense, then."
Fangwulf: *He nods, and reads on.*
Fangwulf: "The Demon Ahrobas, with its stinging coils and the flesh that mauls.
It's claws of sharpest diamond. Fear the beast Ahrobas, for the world Trembles.
Fueled by the Flame, it shall be Like the Gods."
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Fueled by the flame..." She nods a little bit. "The lighter."
Fangwulf: *He looks back to her. He does not look happy, but he rarely does.*
Where did you hear that name? *he whispers.*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "While researching the pendant Aetihilian stole from Lady Jacqueline,"
she says simply.
Fangwulf: *He blinks, and meets her eyes.* You... have it.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Aethilian does not," she whispers, meeting his gaze calmly. "That is
what is important. You think I would trust an Eshu to be able to keep the
lighter from him?"
Fangwulf: I tried convincing her, *he murmurs.* She will not give it up. I will
take it when it is right. Someone attempted to kill her to get it.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: She nods a little bit. "I do not doubt it. Aethilian got very close, I
imagine, to getting all three. Now? He has only one."
Fangwulf: *He nods.* I am.. fairly certain it is he, but I have little proof.
Ours is the truth. Not surmising.
Fangwulf: ((And BTW, you'd be amazed how often these overlapping same-word posts
happen with Jeff and Keith. It's WEIRD.))
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Yes, I believe so, too." She sighs a little bit. "I...do not know how to
find proof. Catching him with the sword would be the best way...we know he did
not have it before."
Fangwulf: There is... movement. *He whispers.* A creature has moved to this
City, and relit the Balefires of a long-dead Freehold. I believe... there may be
some link to this. Everything is in motion.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "A Freehold re-opened?" She straightens a little bit. This is news to
her.
Fangwulf: Within Manhattan proper. It is a wonder they got anything to open in
that festering boil of Banality, *he whispers.* An Ailil from the Kingdom of
Smoke.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Ailil..." She frowns, and shivers. "They seem to be gathering in this
city."
Fangwulf: It makes you wonder... why, doesn't it? *The words come out as a cold
hiss.*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Yes, it
certainly does," she says with a frown. "So, what would be your suggestion
next?"
Fangwulf: To do as we have always done, *he whispers.* To keep the others from
messing everything up, and to listen for the next step. As long as those three
items are not together, we will be safe.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Agreed," she whispers, nodding ever so slightly. "Lady Jacqueline," she
says after a moment. "What does she need in order to become...as she was?"
Fangwulf: It is a powerful cantrip, *he whispers.* I am not sure what needs be
done to reverse it. But he will not leave his post. And we know the threats of
remaining in the Dreaming for too long.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: She frowns and nods. "The blade and the pendant. Perhaps, they are
involved? He seemed adamant about both...unless it was simply in order to have
both items out of Aethilian's hands..."
Fangwulf: I will not lie, *he whispers.* When I knew him, he was an honourable
man.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: She takes a deep breath and nods. "I think, then, that blade needs to be
retrieved."
Fangwulf: *He nods.* It is a given. The blade, even on its own, may be a
dangerous thing in the hands of the wrong person. *He pauses.* Another thing. I
haave... connections, near everywhere. I have tried to find a single person who
knows the name Aethillian Marcona. My sources have turned up nothing.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "It is not his true name, then, perhaps?"
Fangwulf: Perhaps. *he says quietly.* I have very little of a description, and
my sources are reseraching now.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "I can provide a better description, perhaps." She smiles faintly. "I
have been close enough to pump into him."
Fangwulf: ((*blink* That's a typo, right?))
Fangwulf: I would appreciate anything you could offer, *he whispers.*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: ((Bump! BUMP!))
Fangwulf: ((*snickers* Because despite being poncey, Aeth is TOTALLY not into
that.))
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: She nods, and recounts as complete a description as she can possibly
managed from the three or four times they have met.
Fangwulf: *He nods, and writes down facts. It seems he cannot draw at all.*
Fangwulf: I will see what I can find out. But so far, nothing has hit on his
name. *He looks up.* I will convince Jennifer to give me the lighter. Or you
must.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: When she's done recounting things, she takes a deep breath at Elias's
words and lets it out. "I will do endeavor to do so."
Fangwulf: I appreciate your assistance. If you would wish to leave the pendant
here for safe-keeping...
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: She purses her lips. "I would not wish to endanger this place, Elias. I
acted...it is my burden to bear. The offer, however, is appreciated."
Fangwulf: *He nods.* I understand.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: She smiles a bit and inclines her head, before rising. "I will endeavor
to speak with Jennifer, then, as I said. May I rest here tonight?"
Fangwulf: Of course, *he whispers.* Once again, do not wake the slug.
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: "Of course not. Thank you, Elias. As always." She smiles to him, and
backs away, withdrawing.
Fangwulf: *He nods, and he points out the hallway to her. She would remember
where the last room was, yes?*
Adele Elizabeth Hamilton: Of course. She makes her way to the room and settles in to sleep, with
thoughts of draconian heads and Roman swords and other things less nice in her
head. Just no horses, hopefully.
