Florentina Larione: She'd called Frankie for a few drinks after work. He's not a bad
guy and, in fact, he's a little amusing to hang out with. Besides, the tie she'd
ordered online for him finally came. So, she wants to give it to him. For now,
she waits in a bar for him, periodically sipping from her bottle of beer.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: The door opens, and in he walks, squinitng a bit as his eyes adjust to
the darker bar. Dressed same as always...though perhaps a little more relaxed.
Top button undone. Suitcoat open. He looks around, noting Tina, and nods a
little bit as he walks over, smiling a bit to her. "Heya."
Florentina Larione: She's dressed for work, white button-down shirt tucked into her
black slacks and a jacket on. "Hey, how's it goin'?" She stands to greet him,
hand outstretched.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He shrugs a little bit and shakes her hand. "M'allright. How are you?
Florentina Larione: "M'okay, thanks." Her shake is firm before she esttles onto a stool.
"What drink can I get for you?"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Gin and tonic, thanks." He takes a seat
with a sigh, hand running through his hair. "So what's up?"
Florentina Larione: "Not too terribly much. Been doing work, research, all that fun
stuff. Oh! I got you a present." She orders him a gin and tonic before leaning
to snag her bag to pull out a little box.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: His eyebrow raises, smiling a little bit. "You got me a present? What
for?"
Florentina Larione: "You'll see." He grin is nothing less than brilliant and slightly
impish as she hands the box over to him. "Enjoy."
Florentina Larione: ((http://www.wildties.com/dyn/search.jsp;jsessionid=ICGCIJCKMGOF?type=simple&q=007&filter=all))
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He chuckles a little bit and shakes his head, opening it up. "You're an
odd sorta duck, Tina...ya know that?" He opens the lid and looks at the tie,
blinking once before he grins a bit. "Now, this woulda been classic if I'd had
ya order me a shaken not stirred, eh?"
Florentina Larione: "Yeah, well..we all do what we have to." She keeps grinning. "After
I criticized your ties, I figured I should look up better ties for you. Yanno,
put my money where my mouth is."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He grins and nods. "Well, thanks. I 'ppreciate the gesture. Might even
catch me wearing it out on the town."
Florentina Larione: "You'd better, or I'll find you, drag you back to your place, and
make you wear it." She giggles a little and combs her fingers through her hair
as his G&T is delivered.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He gives her a look and then chuckles, shaking his head. "Yeah, ain't
gonna worry about that one." He nods to the waitress and takes his drink, then
leans back, fishing a cigarette out to light up. "So, nothin' new with you?"
Florentina Larione: "Not too terribly much really. There was some sticky business a
little while back, but we took care of it." She finishes her beer and orders
another drink, something different. "How 'bout you?"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Kinda in a holding pattern, you could say." He lights up and takes a
drag, exhaling it to the side before taking a swallow off his glass.
Florentina Larione: "Holding pattern?" Head cocks to the side and she shifts a little on
her stool. "Didja wanna go to a corner table to talk?"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He looks over at the corner for a moment, considering. "Yeah, sure, I
guess. C'mon."
Florentina Larione: She snags her new drink, another beer, and then she heads over to
the table, yoinking her bag and carrying it over.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He rises and follows her to the mostly-abandoned corner, taking a look
around as he settles into his seat. A little paranoid, but deservedly so.
Nothing he does can be discussed openly.
Florentina Larione: She flops into a chair gracelessly, setting her beer down. She beats
her own drum, after all. "So, what's up, buddy?"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Just one-a those things." He looks around the bar, then back to her,
keeping his voice low. "Gotta ask, Tina. Which side of the family you on?"
Florentina Larione: She leans forward to answer him. "The big and angry side of the
family." She's True.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He rolls his eyes. "Yeah, I guessed that part. I mean, which side of OUR
family?"
Florentina Larione: She ponders for a moment. "My family's been wise guys for
generations. Fiorenzo, my great-grandpa, ran with Capone." That fact makes her
family proud, but she's not sure about that whole thing. "So, I'm still a wise
guy by blood..but mebbe I'll climb the corporate ladder one day, but they're no
fun."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He listens to it all with a calm look. "So, then. Which side of the
family are you on?"
Florentina Larione: "Wise Guy." She answers easily enough.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He nods at that. "Awright. Well, you'd best be real fuckin' careful. You
met with the Don yet?"
Florentina Larione: "Not yet, been taking care of a sticky situation Uptown in an old
factory. Doing my research to figure out who owned this building." A thoughtful
pause and a considering look. "What's the Don like?"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Depends on who ya are and when ya meet 'im, I think." He shrugs a little
bit. "Best be doin' it soon, though. If ya want, I'll set up a meetin'."
Florentina Larione: "That'd be cool of ya. Mebbe we'll get along fine." She's confident
of her abilities and personality..too confident. "Hell, I got a Norseman to like
me."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He snorts a bit. "Yeah, that's tough. Get 'em drunk enough, and they'll
do whatever ya tell 'em." He shrugs it off and looks to her. "Anyway...things've
been rough here in town for a while. We all got hit a while back, just 'fore I
came in. Fact, that's why I came in."
Florentina Larione: "Oh?" She takes a sip of beer, interested. "And I got him to like my
while sober, I'll have you know."
Florentina Larione: "So, what's been going on?"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He snorts again. "Maybe he's just in the mood. Anyway, as to what's been
goin' on...been doin' shit for the Don, mostly, and runnin' my business. Tryin'
ta get shit movin' in the right direction.."
Florentina Larione: "Need any help?" She leans forward, elbows on the table as she eyes
him.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Dunno." He shrugs a little bit, taking a drink. "What can ya do?"
Florentina Larione: "Information gathering, research, lending a fist when the situation
calls for it. I'm all over the place and can do anything I put my mind to."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He frowns, considering that thoughtfully. "All right. Gonna put you to
the test, first. See what you can find me about the Giovanni. One of the
families...not our family. There's a fucker in town, Marcel Giovanni, works for
a member of his family named Angelo. Try an' find what's up with 'em. Where they
stayin, how much backup they got, that kinda shit."
Florentina Larione: She pulls out a little notebook to write notes to herself. "All
right. I'll do my research. Anything else?" Her head tilts and she eyes him for
a moment.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "We'll see how ya do with that." He grins a bit.
Florentina Larione: She laughs softly, putting the notebook away. "So, let's talk about
fun stuff..not that researching potential enemies isn't fun."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He smirks a little bit. "Awright. Well, what's fun?"
Florentina Larione: "What do you do when you're not being all business, Mr. Made Man?"
She takes another sip of beer.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He gives her a look. "Watch it with that made man stuff, Tina. I know
it's just you an' me, here, but I gotta be careful. Never know who may be
listenin' in from a distance."
Florentina Larione: "All right, Frankie." She's forgotten how seriously the mob men took
themselves. "But, answer my question."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "What am I doin' when I'm not workin'?" He leans back and takes a sip off
his drink. "Nahmuch. Ain't do much else. Spend time with my girl and her kid,
mostly...visit a few bars from time to time. Take in a street fight. Y'know."
Florentina Larione: She takes another sip of her beer and nods. "Well, sounds like you
have a good time, though. I'm sure you can't complain too much." A thoughtful
pause. "What's your girl like?"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He grins a little bit. "She's cool. Got her own things she does...bounces
at a strip club in the Bronx. Great kid."
Florentina Larione: "Kids are cool. I'll pop out one eventually. I just need to get a
guy first." Though, from the way she says it, it doesn't seem like she's looking
for sunshine, roses, and romance.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He smirks. "Yeah, best-a luck there. Ain't many of our guys runnin'
about. Maybe the Don can setcha up. Otherwise, y'might hafta settle for some
other family."
Florentina Larione: "Ma won't settle for anyone other than an Italian Catholic,
preferably someone from the right family." She rolls her eyes. "Well, if you
find any guys who'd be happy with just a paper marriage and being my roommate,
lemme know and send 'em my way." She's perfectly serious beneath the grin.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He chuckles a little bit and nods. "Yeah, sure. I'll do that." A drag is
taken off his smoke, and he ashes it before looking to her. "So whaddya you do
for fun?"
Florentina Larione: "Me? I go to bars, read a lot, listen to tunes, goof off on the
internet.." The more she talks, the more she realizes how somewhat dull she is.
"Other than that, it's schoolwork, work work, and..other work."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Keeps ya busy, though." He nods. "Goal-oriented. That's good."
Florentina Larione: "Yeah, I figured that I have to stay focused if I want to accomplish
anything worthwhile in this life. It's why I don't get out too terribly much,
I'm afraid."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "I get that," he says with a nod. "I pretty much do the same."
Florentina Larione: She looks a little thoughtful as she eyes him for a long moment
before grinning brightly. "I still need to get you more ties."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He looks back at the tie and then back up with a grin. "What...this one
not crazy enough?"
Florentina Larione: "You should have seen the other ones on the website. I could get you
a whole wardrobe of ties." She grins brightly.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Oh, great." An amused chuckle. "I'm sure the Don'd love that."
Florentina Larione: "How about some Humphrey Bogart or something?" Her grin widens.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Bogart?" His raises his eyebrows and grins. "I like Bogey."
Florentina Larione: "You like Bogey?!?!" Her expression lights up. "I love Bogey. If
they made men like him, I'd take back swearing off romance"
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Yeah, Bogey's the man. African Queen. I mean, c'mon. Who doesn't like
that?"
Florentina Larione: "And we'll always have Paris." She laughs lightly. "African Queen is
classic, though. Man, it's so cool to finally hang out with someone who likes
Bogey too."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Yeah, Casablanca's good, too. And the Big Sleep, too." He nods and
smiles. "Yeah, findin' an old-school movie fan is tough, these days."
Florentina Larione: "I think it has to be my upbringing that's made me appreciate the
classics, yanno?" Yay for finding a kindred spirit.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Yeah." He nods to that. "I grew up watching the old stuff. Always loved
it. This new stuff...all style, no substance."
Florentina Larione: "They don't write dialogue like they used to. It's all about special
effects and big names. It doesn't have that same feeling any more." She shrugs.
"I think a lotta movies lost it when color came into play."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "No argument here." He nods and lights up another cigarette. "The movies
need more of that, these days."
Florentina Larione: "We should totally chill and have a classic movie marathon one of
these days. Man, I wish I had the money to rent out a theater to do something
like that. It'd be perfect."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Ahh, ain't got time for that," he says with a smirk. "Ain't barely got
time to spend at home, even."
Florentina Larione: She chuckles a little. "I bet you think I was propositioning you or
something. But, no matter. Maybe one day." She laughs lightly.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Tina, honey...if I thought you were propositioning me, you'd know it."
He grins and shakes his head.
Florentina Larione: "I know better than to proposition old men." She's all teasing at
the moment. "'Sides, you've got a woman with a kid. I'm not gonna get in the way
of that. That's just rude."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: He nods. "Like I said, I didn't think ya were propositioning me. So don't
worry about it."
Florentina Larione: "You are attractive, but I'm not interested anyways. Too much shit
going on in my life."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Well, I appreciate the compliment." He smiles and finishes up his drink.
"Well...thanks for the tie, Tina, and the drink. S'been fun...but I should get
home."
Florentina Larione: "You're welcome. We'll chill again sometime." She looks at her watch
before scooting back from the table. "Man, I've gotta jet. Early work tomorrow."
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "Yeah, me too." He puts money down for their drinks and tip, and rises.
"I'll see ya 'round. Lemme know whatcha find on 'em, awright? Maybe we'll do
some more work after."
Florentina Larione: "Sounds like a plan. I'll catch you later." She grabs her bag and is
already on the move.
Francesco "Frankie" Giardini: "See ya." He nods to her, then makes his way out after her.
