Keiko Moroboshi: *she enters the VIP room, and
looks around for Laurel...almost immediately taking a seat*
Laurel Hensley: Laurel is just coming out
of the bathroom as Keiko sits down, looking...tired. Pleased with events as they
progressed, but tired. She's dressed in a red skirt ending just above the knee
and a white long-sleeved top, cleavage low enough to be suggestive without being
slutty. She looks over at Keiko and smiles a bit to her. "Hey."
Keiko Moroboshi: "Hi. You had wanted to speak with
me further once I was..." *seems to search for the right word or phrase* "up to
it?"
Laurel Hensley: "Yeah." She nods a little
bit, coming to sit next to Keiko. One leg crosses over the other, and she leans
back against the couch with a sigh. Out comes a cigarette. "Any word from...?"
She trails off, lighting her cigarette.
Keiko Moroboshi: *Keiko cracks a smile...it's faint,
but it's there...this would probably be why she's up to dealing with other
demons again, and she nods, silently.*
Laurel Hensley: She sighs and rleaxes,
visibly relieved. "Is he okay? Is he...um, a he?" Hey, it happens.
Keiko Moroboshi: "I...think so. I don't know much,
but it seems that he's a he and that he's mostly together."
Laurel Hensley: "Lucky bastard," she
says with a smile, though there may indeed be some faint bitterness there. "He's
okay, though...or well, not gone. That's good." She looks around the room, then
back to Keiko. "So how deep of shit do you think we're in?"
Keiko Moroboshi: *she seems a bit confused, perhaps
the lack of sleep or the lack of demonic contact for some time has done it*
"With respect to what?"
Laurel Hensley: Her answer is simple, and
almost dead calm, without emotion. "Urian."
Keiko Moroboshi -> Laurel Hensley: ((Random
aside...and not terribly urgent...think at some point Mahzian could get onto the
Demon Dramatis Personae list on the wiki? Probably a few other PCs who belong
there aren't, but they aren't mine, so Nyah. *G*))
Keiko Moroboshi: "Ahh." *nods* "I don't know enough
about Urian and his operation." *she shakes her head* "As I mentioned before, I
think there is some tension in his ranks, but I just don't know enough to be
able to say anything definite."
Laurel Hensley -> Keiko Moroboshi:
((She'll make it on, yeah. *G*))
Laurel Hensley: "I meant amongst our own."
She takes a drag of her cigarette. "How many people are finding themselves fans
of the man?"
Keiko Moroboshi: "Again...I don't know. The Circle
will remain together...none of us are terribly fond of Reconcilers, which Urian
and his people appear to be from what I remember. As for the Court...except for
a brief meeting with Brigitte a couple of days ago, you're the only one I've
spoken to in weeks."
Keiko Moroboshi -> Laurel Hensley: ((Oh, and unless
you mind, Johan might be joining them...and it's fair to say that it would have
completely slipped Keiko's mind to tell Laurel...but after all, that's what this
room is for, demonic interaction))
Laurel Hensley -> Keiko Moroboshi: ((That's fine. Long as Dane does nothing typically OOC retarded. *S*))
Laurel Hensley: She nods a little bit,
lips pursing at mention of Brigette and eyes suddenly finding the bar
interesting on the other side of the room. "Fair enough. I'm not paranoid, I
swear. Just...concerned."
Keiko Moroboshi: *nods* "I don't think it is
paranoia...you have legitimate reason for concern and worry..." *she is silent a
moment, choosing her next words* "We must all watch out for them...they appeared
suddenly and with numbers. Any intelligent person would worry."
Laurel Hensley: "Yeah, I know." She sighs.
"I'm just afraid everyone's going to call me crazy or paranoid or
what-have-you." She smiles warmly at Keiko, putting a hand on the other's
shoulder. "Thanks."
Keiko Moroboshi: "You...do not appear to be crazy,
from where I stand. Merely cautious...which is a virtue."
Laurel Hensley: She sighs, and nods. "All
right. So, then...Cernunnos. It's time we started in on that. Brigette was going
to go looking for this guy in sex clubs who we know about, but..." She shakes
her head. "Not in her current state. What would you say to us going to have a
look?"
Laurel Hensley: ((Gotta reboot...BRB))
Keiko Moroboshi: *her eyes widen a bit, and she
tries several times to start a sentence but just can't manage to get past the
first word but keeps failing miserably, breathing heavily in between the false
starts*
Laurel Hensley: She raises an eyebrow.
"You okay, Keiko?"
Laurel Hensley:
d10: Per+Emp: 2,3,2,9,3,10,
Keiko Moroboshi: *she appears to be on the verge of
a panic attack at the notion of going to sex clubs...she can't quite form words,
but she does nod her head in a quite obvious lie while trying to calm herself
down*
Laurel Hensley: She smiles slightly, and
sighs. "It's...not my thing, either. But if you're not comfortable...maybe
someone else. And you can look for Malice with Victor?"
Keiko Moroboshi: *she takes a moment to calm down,
and once she has* "...perhaps. I do not know how well Victor and I will get
along, but...I think I am more up to that than to..." *she just trails off*
Keiko Moroboshi -> Laurel Hensley: ((Which reminds
me, Charles is truly fucked now, if Black Stag ever returns with info on
Malice...his Demon contact is dead))
Laurel Hensley -> Keiko Moroboshi: ((Naah,
not fucked. :) It's cool. I just...you know. Suck.))
Laurel Hensley: "Yeah, well," she says
with a wry smile, slightly blushing herself. "Not quite my cup of tea, either.
But I'll do what needs to be done."
Keiko Moroboshi: "Is there anyone else who might be
more...appropriate? Or who has a thrall that might be?"
Keiko Moroboshi -> Laurel Hensley: ((Eh, Charles has
been fucked before, and always survived it in the past...oh, he might have to
burn a few bridges, causing an entire totem to hate him and try to kill him on
sight if he enters the Umbra, but he would probably survive for now.))
Laurel Hensley: "Not that I know of," she
says with a sigh. "I don't trust Burnham to make a scotch and soda, much less do
something like that. Victor lacks the subtlety. Alister...I don't know. I don't
fully trust Phillip. Delaney is...well, she might work." That's not entirely
accurate to his beliefs, but maybe close. "Maybe her and Baby?"
Keiko Moroboshi: "They might work...you know your
people better than I do."
Laurel Hensley: "I might have to see about
that," she says with a nod. "Beyond that...we need to find the reliquary, too."
Keiko Moroboshi: "Well...once the Lord of Chains's
minions are captured for questioning, I'm sure there are those who can get the
information we need out of them, about the Reliquary, for example."
Laurel Hensley: "Yeah." She nods a
little bit. "Hopefully so." A sigh, and she looks to the ground. Quiet. She
fidgits with her hands a little bit in her lap.
Keiko Moroboshi: *the silence goes for a bit before
Keiko speaks* "Are you alright?"
Laurel Hensley: She's quiet for a long
moment, staring down, before finally murmuring. "She lost it, Keiko."
Keiko Moroboshi: "You're referring to Brigitte's
child?" *well..technically it's a question...she looks down slightly herself*
Laurel Hensley: She doesn't really react,
but that in itself is pretty much confirmation. "It took us three days to even
get together to talk about it. We can speak instantly to each other, at any
time...and we stalled for three fucking days. And I can't help but wonder how
much of that is my fault."
Keiko Moroboshi: *frowns* "As far as that goes...I
can lend a sympathetic ear, but...neither side of me has had a good track record
of understanding people. As to the loss itself...I feel like I could probably
have done something to prevent it, had I been here with Brigitte." *shakes her
head sadly*
Laurel Hensley: "Like what?" She shakes
her head. "it was...mystical. Not physical. We don't get sick, we don't get
disease. We shouldn't miscarry. It was thr ritual, nothing else. I just waited
too long to get us moving."
Keiko Moroboshi: "I'm not talking about a
physical prevention...I was thinking that my Aura of Life might have been able
to help...as far as waiting though...we moved as quickly as we could, it would
have taken a fundamentally different plan to end the ritual sooner, and most of
the faster plans seemed to include the risk of an explosion of...nuclear
proportions."
Laurel Hensley: "Yeah." She nods, not
totally convinced, but willing to go along with the lie for now. "Yeah, I guess
so. I just...it's not fair, I guess. She's lost three children now, and I..."
She shrugs. "I think we would have made good parents."
Keiko Moroboshi: *she nods* "You would have..."
Laurel Hensley: "Thanks." She takes a deep
breath, impulsively going for another cigarette.
Keiko Moroboshi: *Keiko is silent for a moment
once again* "...I should be going...it is getting late. If you need
anything...if there's anything I can help with...or if you just need to
talk...you know how to find me." *she stands up*
Laurel Hensley: "Yeah." She nods a bit and
looks up with a ghost of a smile. "Thanks, Mahzian. I'll see you later."
Keiko Moroboshi: "Good night...Melioth." *and she
heads off* ((thanks for the scene))
Laurel Hensley: ((Thank you!))
