Leander Fox (Fox Books): *The sign says "Fox Books" with an image of a fox wrapped around the words, with its nose resting in an open book*

Ri: *Ri bounces in, grinning from ear to ear*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *the place is full of shelves and books and books and books and books. Leander, slender and well-dressed, is in the process of putting some more away*

Moira Connolly: Moira with a nother list of book wanders into the shoppe. a slight glance about at least the banal creature she ran into here last time isn't here. a nod given to Ri and Leander.

Moira Connolly: (*color claim)

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *nods to both, with a small, reserved smile. he of course is also glad the banal creature is not here*

Ri: Foxmandu! *beams and scampers over to him* hello! do you do trades here? i have some extra copies of some books.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): Not in general, though if the book is rare, I'd consider it.

Moira Connolly: She smiles slightly as she begins the hunt for the books she needed.

Ri: awwww..*pouts* well, what about these? *begins pulling tomes from her satchel to show him*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *looks them over seriously* *glances to Moira* If you need any help, do let me know? *whispering, of course*

Falke: *He walks slowly towards the building. He looks as if he swallowed something sour. But it is likely he always looks like that.*

Moira Connolly: she nods her head to Leander her fingers running over the tops of the books. her eye glancing towards the door absently assuming there is a chime out of curiosity.

Ri: *there MIGHT even be one or two old books in the pile. she flashes a wide grin to Moira, fidgeting from foot to foot*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *he selects two* These, I believe, I could trade for.

Ri: *beams and nearly does a jig* yay! i need new stuff to read.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *considers* I will trade for two hardcover or four softcover books, for these two.

Moira Connolly: She pulls out a few plays and monologue books. Then moves onto another section. a polite nod to Falke if their eyes meet.

Ri: ok! 8and she's off to browse the stacks. giving Falke a merry grin and long stare*

Falke: *He pulls open the door. Gloved hands, but it's not surprising. It is a little cold outside.*

Corinne Braddock: ((Room for another?))

Falke: *He looks to Moira first, and he nods once, but his eyes do not lower. Much. Ri gets a glance, and then a look away.* This place is... quaint. *His accent is South London. His eyes, milky green, vaguely reptilian. Even to the Mortal eyes, he is an attractive older man.*

Falke: ((YES!))

Moira Connolly: ((yey!)

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *bows to the new arrival* Thank you.

Ri: it has books. books are fun things to lay with. *currently attempting to clamber up to a shelf out of reach*

Moira Connolly: She goes back to looking for books she picks out one biography on Wagner and then one historical book on Madrigals. she brings them to the counter. Checking her list."

Leander Fox (Fox Books): There is a step stair there, if you need it. *gesturing to it*

Falke: *He arches an eyebrow to the sluagh. And he clears his throat. All is right and proper with the world. The sour slowly fades, until he looks back to Moira.*

Ri: it's too short. *nods cheerily to Leander. and that might not be quite a lie, considering her height*

Corinne Braddock: She makes her way along the street, a small smile on her statuesque face as she goes. Her attention is caught by the book store, and on a lark, she decides to go in. She's dressed in a simple evening cocktail dress, cut low but not scandalously so, and a shawl resting over her shoulders. ((DD in next post, since it's all huge and stuff))

Corinne Braddock: ((When she was younger, she must have been absolutely exquisite. Now, in her mid 30's, she's "merely" stunning. Statuesque and refined, she has an grace to her bearing that seems entirely natural, effortless even. Standing somewhere on the tall side of the five and a half feet range, she's trim, her lithe body draped in elegance, whether an evening dress or an expensive, tailored business suit. She tends to prefer the former over the latter. Her hair, a dark auburn, stretches down to her shoulder blades when worn down; hypnotic green eyes take in the world around her with a shrewdness that shows this lovely lady has a quick mind as well. ((Fame 1 among the Fashion or Escort Industry))

Fae Mien: What is statuesque and refined to mortal eyes becomes exquisitely so. The lines of age fade away, bringing an incredible beauty to her form, a smoothness to her. The point to her ears just peeks out of her curled hair, and the gown she wears is gossamer, deceptively strong as it reveals enough of the curves that fit the delicate arc of her body perfectly. At her side, a rapier, the guard silver and damascened, hangs comfortably...a reminder that this woman isn't just another beautiful face.))

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *bows again to Falke, and to Corinne as she enters. polite and quiet. not that either of those is surprising*

Falke: I did not know that simple commoners could run any sort of business, let aone one so complex as a bookstore, *he mutters, and looks over the shelves. He runs a finger over one book in distaste, peering for dust.* Do you not agree, Moira? *No. No title, it seems.*

Ri: *grins happily to Corinne and nearly manages to fall as she finally gets that book she was after*

Falke: *He looks over his shoulder, noting Corinne. She gets a simple nod.*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *he merely watches, undisturbed by the insult*

Corinne Braddock: She graces Leander with a brief smile and a nod, and even gives one to Ri, before looking to Falke. She smiles warmly to the man, nodding her head. "Well, well...pleasant surprises. Good Evening." And she nods to Moira after that as well.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): If anyone requires anything, please let me know. *whispered, of course*

Falke: *He seems to be pondering that one. Pleasant surprised. He is clearly unused to hearing that, and thus chalks it up to the bookstore. He rubs his fingertips together to drop whatever dust there is to the floor.*

Moira Connolly: She glances over to Falke" I do not think the complexities of a bookstore are out of range from commoners Sir. For a Commoner to run one must speaj highly of their skill" she answers evenly. " a polite nod to Corinne.

Ri: *chortles, opening the book and ducking her head to hide the rolling of her eyes. and she's immediately absorbed, plopping down in the middle of the aisle*

Falke: *He frowns slightly.* That is what I said, Moira.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *Leander simply awaits. and watches. and listens*

Falke: *He does cast a glance over to the sluagh, as if interpreting. Observing. Suspicious, or perhaps, paranoid.* This place is new, is it not?

Falke: ((CLONES!))

Moira Connolly: (urh i flipped it lol) She looks to Falke "i'm sorry i misheard, my ears are a little off from the orchestra practicing in the theater this afternoon."

Falke: It is not that you do not hear, it is that you do not listen. We shall have to work on that, *he says quite calmly to Moira.*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): It is new, indeed. *he nods, otherwise watching and listening. because, y'know, he's a sluagh*

Moira Connolly: "yes sir" she looks down slightly for her error.

Corinne Braddock: She listens to Falke and Moira for a moment, and then with a quiet murmured "Pardon me," she slips past them, heading down the aisles with a curious expression on her face.

Falke: *He nods once to Moira, and then looks back to the sluagh.* Somewhat in the public eye for your type.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): Perhaps. *nods to Falke*

Falke: I am looking for a specific book, actually. It looks somewhat of a journal. A thick, leather-bound book, approximately the size of a standard dictionary. It has no words on its pages.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): A blank book? I have a selection of those, over here, sir. *gesturing to a shelf of blank books - including some high-end nice ones, similar to that description*

Ri: *tilts her head curiously at the mention of the jounral*

Corinne Braddock: She looks up and down the shelves as she makes her slow walk through the book store, pausing for a moment every now and then to peruse a book title.

Moira Connolly: She watches curious as to if Leander has the specific book. meanwhile reaching for a pen in her pocket checking off the books she found.

Falke: Hm. *He seems curious, and walks over to them. Again, his fingers run over the ends of them, clearly looking for something specific.*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *watches, and waits*

Falke: Perhaps I could get you a drawing, and if it comes through, you could contact me?

Ri: *skips over to Leander* i wonder if his book really has stuff written in it, like with lemon juice. or! magic ink, like Harry Potter! *she whispers. for her*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): Yes, of course, sir. *nods to Falke* *glances at Ri* Have you seen the movie MirrorMask?

Falke: *He looks back to Ri.* There is nothing written in it.

Ri: *nods and beams* it was pretty good. although the Sphynx was all wrong. 8waves a hand airly* i've seen one, so i know!

Ri: are you sure? *eyes wide at the man* it could be something in there somewhere. the breath of ghosts, written in hidden whispers on a blank page. of course, you'd need to be dead to read taht.

Corinne Braddock: She glances back at the conversation, an eyebrow delicately lifting, before looking back to the books. She stops finally, lips pursing, and turns to make her way back up toward the counter.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): I was thinking of something like the Really Useful Book. *he says to Ri. glances back at Falke, curiously*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *to Corinne* Yes, may I help you?

Falke: *He looks back to Corinne.* Business has been good?

Falke: It is a useful book. That is all. *He sighs.* But it is not here.

Ri: *ponders this* that would be fun to have. i want a Really Useful Book of my very own. *grins widely, then tilts her head to the man* i have lots of books at home. if i find it with mine, i might trade it to you. *giggles* or i'll trade to to Foxmandu!

Falke: I do not think someone like you would have it, *he says rather curtly to Ri.*

Corinne Braddock: "I hope so." She graces Leander with a small smile. "I'm looking for an early edition copy of Wuthering Heights, but it has been rather an elusive little book to find."

Moira Connolly: She considers what has been said as she moves to grab the last two she needs.finish her list and leaving them on the counter for now.

Ri: *gives the man a very wide and impish grin* you never know, though, do you? *tilts her head* coincidence makes strange chance happen. and i am certainly strange!

Leander Fox (Fox Books): How early an edition?

Corinne Braddock: "Business has been quite well, yes." She nods to Falke with a smile. "That's actually why I'm here. Things have been going well enough that I thought to buy Jessica a gift of appreciation for her birthday."

Ri: wuthering heights. i have seventeen and a half copies of that one. ooooo! *blitzes toward a shelf, and a dusty little book on the bottom shelf*

Falke: Excellent, *he says calmly.* I am pleased I could be of some assistance. *Funny - he doesn't LOOK pleased.*

Falke: I shall leave you a copy of my card, and ... have you a fax machine? I can send it over in three hours or less.

Corinne Braddock: "Well, it is my understanding that most copies as far back as the early 1900's are fairly easy to find, and not particularly valued. I was hoping to find something in excellent condition from the late 19th century, if an original is not available."

Leander Fox (Fox Books): I do. *he provides a card for the store, which has the appropriate numbers*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): An original is very hard to obtain. I do not have an early edition on hand, but I can inquire, if you would wish.

Falke: *He exchanges cards, then. His includes a single number. And no first name, but Falke, on it. With Contract Negotiations written beneath. It's a nice card, though.*

Corinne Braddock: "Or," she continues after a pause, "Barring that, a copy of the 1924 12-volume set of The Novels of the Sisters Bronte, published by John Grant, would be exceptional as well." She looks at Falke and smiles. "Your assistance is greatly appreciated, of course."

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *he passes a card to Corinne as well* I will inquire, if you wish. What is your time requirement? *to Corrine*

Ri: *tilts her head at Leander* if i've got an original, what would you trade for it? *bounces, brighteyed. a smudge on her nose. the little book clutched tightly to her bosom*

Corinne Braddock: "I have a few weeks until it becomes an issue." She, much like Falke, exchanges cars with Leander...hers is eggshell white with "Braddock Industries" printing across it, with an office and cell number. "Please do not call the office number...I don't want Jessica to know, and she answers the phones."

Leander Fox (Fox Books): If you own an original, yes. but that is not likely. *to Ri* *nods to Corinne* I will let you know if I find anything.

Ri: *grins widely to Leander, looking more like his mascot than what she is for a moment*

Falke: *He turns away, and he looks back to Moira.* I have a note for you. It will be taped underneath the mat of your apartment tomorrow at twelve p.m.

Ri: *her attention is distracted again, by another book. skips over and pulls it from the shelf, humming happily to herself* i want these two for those two! *waving the books at him. one's an old romance novel. one's a very dry tome on the symbology of Egpytian heiroglyphics*

Corinne Braddock: "That would be appreciated." She nods to Leander, and then looks to Falke. "So...have you been keeping yourself busy as of late?" A little smile tugs at the corners of her mouth.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *nods to Ri* Excellent choices. *he makes a note of them*

Moira Connolly: She nods her head "I'll be sure to read it."

Falke: Far too busy, it seems, *he says honestly.* Too much work to be done, and far too few people around. demands for vacation time about this time are rediculous. That, and the illness that seems to be going about.

Ri: *beams at Leander* yay! i'm hungry. bye! *and she simply......heads for the door, hugging her new books to herself protectively*

Ri: ((*hugs* mew, i need sleep. got to work in the morning. *wry grin*))

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *watches Ri go with a hint of a smile*

Moira Connolly: ((*hugs* tc Kit )

Corinne Braddock: She nods a little bit. "I can certainly understand that. Business remains fairly steady for me, as you can imagine, and when one of my employees is sick...well, it's difficult to catch up. We're managing well enough, however."

Corinne Braddock: ((Night Harper! *Hugs*))

Leander Fox (Fox Books): ((*hugs* Thanks for playing!))

Falke: Excellent. If you need any more, however, feel free to let me know. I can always re-negotiate. *He looks back over his shoulder.* I should go.

Corinne Braddock: "So soon?" She gives a mock pout, before smiling. "If you must, we shall have to get along without you, then. Have a most excellent evening."

Ri: ((*hugs tight* thank ya'll! *G* sweet dreams! *toddles cheerfully*))

Falke: I shall, I believe. Good eve. *He watches Corinne suspiciously, as if not sure when she is apt to bite. But he turns, looking over his shoulder, and exiting the store.*

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *bows again to Falke as he leaves*

Moira Connolly: "have a good evening Sir " she watches him leave a slight tilt of her head at at passing thought.

Corinne Braddock: She looks after Falke, smiling a little bit and reaching up to run a few strands of hair through her fingers. She watches after he's been gone for a few minutes, and then looks back to Leander finally.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *watching and waiting, as he has been* Yes?

Corinne Braddock: "Oh...nothing." She offers him a slight shrug and a gracious smile. "This is a quaint little business...how long have you been here?"

Leander Fox (Fox Books): ((I need to crash soon, too))

Leander Fox (Fox Books): Just about a month now, madame.

Moira Connolly: she moves to the counter and waits paientlly for the conversation to end so she can pay for her books.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): Was there anything else you wanted? *to Moira*

Corinne Braddock: Her brow raises a little bit, and she nods. "I see. Well, i hope to hear from you regarding the books soon. Good day." She nods to Moira a little bit, and then makes her way out.

Leander Fox (Fox Books): *nods to Corinne* Good evening, madame.

Moira Connolly: She shakes her head "no but thank you Leander.." she seems a bit offkilter.

Corinne Braddock: "My Lady," she corrects Leander gently, before slipping out the door. ((Thanks for the scene, guys. *S*))

Leander Fox (Fox Books): Are you well, madame? *gently, to Moira*

Moira Connolly: She nods her head to Corinne "save travels m'lady"
